City/State Norfolk, VA Work Shift First (Days) Overview: Sentara Health is currently hiring a Contract Associate/Juris Doctorate! Status: Full-Time, permanent position (40 hours) Standard working hours: 8am to 5pm EST, M-F Remote opportunities available in the following states: Alabama, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington (state), West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming! Job Responsibilities: Partner with other business areas within the health system to identify opportunities for growth and integration in currently siloed or fragmented processes. Draft and negotiate purchase agreements for supplies, purchased services, and medical capital equipment for Sentara. Collaborate with Legal to develop, update, and enforce Sentara\'s purchase order terms and conditions, understanding their legal impact. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of laws and regulations in contracts and healthcare, connecting with peers through trade groups like AHLA. Assist in developing and implementing Sentara\'s contractual policies and procedures. Partner with system leaders and clinical teams to understand their business needs, advise on risks, and represent Sentara during vendor negotiations. Negotiate business terms to meet user needs and organizational goals; collaborate with Legal on legal terms. Communicate contract provisions and business risks to leadership. Build and maintain relationships with vendors to support strategic goals. Identify and pursue new contracts with vendors to support system initiatives. Track financial performance and compliance of agreements. Draft amendments, extensions, and short-form contracts using standard templates. Evaluate lease and group purchasing agreements for compliance. Maintain complete contract files and records within Sentara\'s system. Education Juris Doctorate with experience in litigation, ADR, or transactional negotiation REQUIRED Master\'s Degree in Business, Healthcare, or Supply Chain Management preferred Certification/Licensure None required Experience Minimum 3 years of legal experience focusing on corporate and healthcare law or transactional contracts REQUIRED Experience in Supply Chain contract negotiation preferred Experience in healthcare operations beneficial Sentara Health is a not-for-profit health system with over 130 years of service, recognized for quality and safety, and committed to community and employee well-being. #J-18808-Ljbffr
