Food For The Poor, one of the largest international relief and development organizations in the nation, does much more than feed millions of the hungry poor primarily in 17 countries of the Caribbean and Latin America. This interdenominational Christian ministry provides emergency relief assistance, clean water, medicines, educational materials, homes, support for orphans and the aged, skills training and micro-enterprise development assistance. Overall Responsibility:
This role entails actively developing and managing projects in collaboration with implementing partners, subject matter experts, and the Food For The Poor's projects department.
The Project Manager oversees project resources, ensuring adherence to core project management principles and Food For the Poor policies throughout project execution and program implementation. Also, will coordinate people and processes to ensure that our projects are delivered on time and produce the desired results. Specific project manager responsibilities include developing detailed project plans, ensuring resource availability and allocation, and delivering every project on time within budget and scope.
This role will be working remotely in the country of Kingston, Jamaica, candidates MUST be a resident of Kingston, Jamaica.
Duties:
Act as the main point of contact between Food For The Poor (FFTP) and implementing partners for all project management-related affairs.
Assist the Director of Projects in executing regional program strategies and initiatives for enhancing in-country capacities and promoting best practices in project management.
Collaborate on project planning, execution, and completion alongside implementing partners and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
Ensure compliance with local, international, and organizational regulations, standards, and best practices in international development throughout all project activities.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project/program goals alignment, obtain necessary approvals, and facilitate communication.
Conduct site visits to project locations, engaging with local communities and stakeholders in collaboration with implementing partners and SMEs.
Maintain consistent communication with implementing partners to ensure smooth project implementation.
Ensure projects and programs are completed within set timelines and budget constraints and follow the project management plan.
Present project plans and progress updates to various stakeholders, fostering transparency and collaboration.
Identify potential risks and work with implementing partners and SMEs to develop and execute risk mitigation strategies.
Monitor project progress and implement corrective measures in collaboration with SMEs and implementing partners when deviations occur.
Oversee project budgeting and ensure financial compliance.
Develop and deliver engaging presentations to both internal and external stakeholders.
Support in-country analyses and feasibility studies to assess project feasibility, viability, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with organizational policies.
Review prospective projects and concept notes, ensuring all required documentation is obtained, digital media is reviewed, and project information is accurately entered into FFTP's project management database.
Provide additional information as needed by fundraising departments and respond to inquiries regarding countries/projects.
Participate in and support the coordination of trips for donors, partners, and staff.
Review and provide information for status reports on funded projects.
Prepare trip and expense reports.
Perform other job-related duties as indicated by the Director of Projects.
