They will be triaging incoming telephone calls from clients, assessing needs, giving appropriate telephone triage clinical options and facilitating referrals to primary providers, health care facilities and community... resources and scheduling appointments as needed. The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing appropriate health information as well as triaging the patient to the most appropriate level of care. By utilizing assessment skills and comprehensive nursing skills in conjunction with established medical protocols, he/she will provide telephone triage advice, education, and triage within a full spectrum of acuity. He/She will perform data entry of calls in a message board system. The Registered Nurse (RN) must respond to and triage telephone calls in a timely and professional manner and must meet documentation requirements. The nurse will have to access multiple computer/EMR systems simultaneously in order to properly document all calls. The ability to work independently as a Telephone Triage Registered Nurse (RN) is a must when working in a remote work from home environment.
