The Role
We’re seeking an experienced Virtual Medical Assistant / Admin to support patients and providers in delivering exceptional remote care. You’ll be at the center of Elektra’s virtual clinic—ensuring smooth operations, efficient workflows, and compassionate communication every step of the way.

This is a 3-month contract-to-hire position with the expectation of conversion to W2 employment, pending strong performance.

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver exceptional patient support via phone, text, email, and secure messaging
  • Partner with providers and care team members to ensure efficient, high-quality care
  • Support patient onboarding and troubleshoot any issues
  • Verify insurance eligibility and assist with scheduling and confirming visits
  • Prepare and maintain accurate patient records in the EHR
  • Manage communications around insurance, billing, prescriptions, and follow-ups
  • Provide light technical support to patients and providers
  • Help ensure smooth clinic operations and workflows
  • Assist with insurance billing and claim denial follow-up
  • Uphold HIPAA compliance and organizational policies

Required Skills & Experience

  • 2–3 years of patient-facing healthcare or customer service experience (virtual or women’s health preferred)
  • Proficiency with EHR systems (Athena strongly preferred)
  • Comfortable communicating by phone, SMS, and email
  • Tech-savvy; able to learn new systems quickly (experience with Google Workspace and Slack a plus)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong organization, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Reliable high-speed internet and a private workspace
  • Understanding of and commitment to HIPAA-compliant practices
  • Team-oriented and willing to assist wherever needed

Bonus Points If You:

  • Are bilingual (Spanish-English)
  • Have insurance billing or claims experience
