<p>Newspack is seeking an experienced product and business development operator to identify, vet, negotiate and launch third-party partnerships that benefit our news publishers.</p> <p>As a member of the Newspack product team, you will help shape Newspack as the preferred platform for creating innovative, habit-forming experiences centered on journalism and storytelling and drive economic value for publishers by deepening their connection and service to readers.</p> <p>As Newspack’s customer base has grown, we have become an attractive sales channel for third-party technology and service providers that seek to reach the small- to medium-sized publishers that we typically serve.</p> <h4>Responsibilities:</h4> <ul> <li>Source technology and service providers whose products have the potential to drive editorial excellence, audience engagement and revenue growth</li> <li>Vet potential partners who approach us unsolicited, assessing the market need, pricing and reliability</li> <li>Consult with existing customers in our Slack workspace and on Zoom and stay abreast of the wider news industry trends — part of a lively feedback loop that lets us tailor our product to the customers.</li> <li>Work with selected “beta” customers to test and refine key features of these products and measure their performance so they can be rolled out to the wider Newspack community with confidence that they’ll produce results</li> <li>Negotiate business terms favorable to both Newspack and its customers</li> <li>Draft contract terms and work with legal to execute agreements</li> <li>Work with the product, engineering and support teams to deploy, document, market and support these third party products.</li> </ul> <h3>Requirements:</h3> <ul> <li>Are socially intelligent; easily able to understand, empathize, and connect with people</li> <li>Skilled at verbal and written communication</li> <li>Love solving problems and discovering opportunities to help people succeed</li> <li>Thrive in a goal-oriented and high-growth environment that achieves results</li> <li>Value being part of an agile team and having a clear impact on the business</li> <li>Coachable and anxious to learn through constructive feedback</li> <li>Have strong conceptual and analytical skills</li> <li>Be skilled at aligning multiple stakeholders</li> <li>Have excellent planning, time management and organizational skills</li> </ul> <p><strong>Salary range: $120,000-$200,000 USD</strong><strong> – </strong>Please note that salary ranges are global, regardless of location, and we pay in local currency.<br /> Read more about our<a href="https://automattic.com/compensation/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">compensation philosophy</a> and<a href="https://automattic.com/benefits/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">benefits</a>.</p> <p>This isn’t your typical work-from-home job—we are a fully-remote company with an open vacation policy.
