This role will work closely with a distributed team of backend engineers and platform specialists, focusing on building scalable data integration systems, content management workflows, and robust web services. You\'ll champion API design, data architecture, and backend best practices while collaborating with frontend engineers, SRE teams, and third-party resources to deliver exceptional web experiences at scale.</p><p><b>What You Will Be Doing:</b></p><ul><li>Collaborate with and provide technical guidance to backend engineers and platform specialists through code reviews and architectural discussions</li><li>Drive the technical vision for backend services, data integration pipelines, and content management systems</li><li>Lead the design and implementation of APIs that power dynamic web experiences</li><li>Establish and maintain quality standards, testing processes, and deployment practices for backend systems</li><li>Architect and optimize data synchronization between third-party platforms and internal data stores</li><li>Collaborate closely with frontend, SRE, and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless system integration</li><li>Champion backend performance optimizations, monitoring, and observability practices</li><li>Ensure security, scalability, and reliability across all backend web services</li><li>Contribute to infrastructure planning and work with SRE teams on deployment and operations</li><li>Foster effective communication and collaboration practices in a distributed-first environment</li></ul><p><b>What You Bring:</b></p><ul><li>8+ years of experience in backend web development, with a focus on scalable web applications and APIs</li><li>3+ years of experience as a senior technical contributor or technical lead in collaborative environments</li><li>Strong expertise in modern backend technologies and frameworks (Node.js, Python, Java, or similar)</li><li>Deep experience with content management systems, headless CMS architectures, and content delivery workflows</li><li>Proven experience building and maintaining data integration pipelines and ETL processes</li><li>Strong understanding of API design principles, RESTful services, and microservices architecture</li><li>Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred) and infrastructure-as-code practices</li><li>Knowledge of search technologies and experience with data indexing and retrieval systems</li><li>Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools for production systems</li><li>Excellent remote communication skills and experience working with distributed teams</li></ul><p><b>Bonus Points:</b></p><ul><li>Experience with Elasticsearch or other search/analytics platforms</li><li>Knowledge of content delivery networks (CDNs) and edge computing</li><li>Experience with event-driven architectures and message queuing systems</li><li>Familiarity with marketing technology integrations (CRM, analytics, form processors)</li><li>Experience with automated testing strategies for backend systems and data pipelines</li><li>Background in site reliability engineering or DevOps practices</li><li>Experience with localization and internationalization for web applications</li><li>Contribution to open-source projects or developer tools</li></ul><p><b>Additional Information - We Take Care of Our People:</b></p><p>As a distributed company, diversity drives our identity.
