Job Description

Are you a meticulous financial professional seeking a flexible, part-time opportunity? Holt Cat is looking for a dedicated and experienced Remote Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team in a part-time capacity. This role offers the convenience of working from home while contributing significantly to the financial accuracy and operational efficiency of our Fort Worth operations. As a Remote Bookkeeper, you will be instrumental in maintaining our financial records, ensuring all transactions are accurately classified and recorded, and supporting our accounting department with timely and reliable data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and process accounts payable and accounts receivable efficiently and accurately.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded and categorized.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing financial reports and supporting schedules.
  • Process and verify payroll data, ensuring timely and accurate employee compensation.
  • Monitor cash flow and track expenses, providing regular updates to management.
  • Respond to financial inquiries and provide support for audits as needed.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of financial data and company information.
  • Continuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles.
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or similar ERP systems.
  • Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
  • High degree of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certification as a Certified Bookkeeper (CB) or relevant accounting certification.
  • Experience with heavy equipment or industrial machinery industry accounting practices.
  • Prior experience working in a fully remote or hybrid work environment.
  • Familiarity with financial reporting tools and analysis.
